Full Membership
- May participate in any tournament and activity arranged under the auspices of JSA.
- Each full member will receive a full copy of the JSA Grading Syllabus from NAJA.
Recreational Membership
- May only participate in closed Provincial tournaments arranged against members of the province that he/she is affiliated to.
- May NOT compete in JSA or Provincial Trials.
- May NOT compete in Team events against other provinces affiliated to JSA.
- JSA will only recognize up to 4th Kyu (Orange Belt)
Beginner Membership (one year to NAJA only)
- Only for new Judoka.
- May only participate in NAJA Novice tournaments.
- May not grade.
- Is not recognized by JSA.
- Judoka entering this category will only be classed a beginner for one year.

Cut-Off Dates
Final Cut-Off Date for NAJA Clubs’ Registration & Re-Registration Applications
1.1 “The fees for affiliation, which shall be payable annually for the period ending 31 December of each year, shall become due on 1 January of each year and shall also be payable for any part thereof.”
Club Registrations - 1 January 2010
- All Clubs wishing to apply to register or re-register with NAJA, must submit their applications by 1January 2010 to the secretary/registrar.
- To apply to register or re-register a club you are required to submit a applications for a Coach, 10 Full Registrations as well as the club fee by cut-off date. Failing this clubs will have to apply for club status as per the NAJA constitution (available on the webpage).
“To be able to affiliate or re-affiliate, a club has to consist of at least ten (10) members and a licensed coach.”
Assisted Players - 5 March 2010
- Clubs wishing to register Assisted players, who wish to take part in the JSA Open International Championships, must register these players by 5 March 2010. These applications will be forwarded to the JSA Development Officer in time for their cut-off date of the 15 March 2010.
Final Cut-Off for NAJA Judoka Entering SA OPEN: - 5 March 2010
- This is the final cut-off for Coaches who wish their Judoka to participate in the JSA Open International Championships.
Procedure
Please refer to the NAJA Constitution Paragraph 5. Membership (available on NAJA website)
- Each Club to please send details of their Registrar to the NAJA Registrar (must be a registered member of NAJA)
- Please use the new NAJA 2010 Registration Forms only.
- The club registrar must complete the NAJA Club Registration Template correctly and follow the procedure set out below.
- By applying for registration or re-registration with NAJA, you agree to accept the constitution of this association and the constitution of Judo South Africa, the controlling body.
- All judoka are to complete the registration form, attach a photo and a copy of their Identity Document/Birth Certificate. Judoka who were registered in 2009 – need only complete the 2010 registration form.
- Parents/Judoka must work through their Club Registrar.
- Parents wishing to officiate in any capacity must apply for full registration.
- Payments to NAJA must be paid into NAJA account by the Club Registrar and proof of payment as well as reconciliation to be emailed to the NAJA Registrar at: najasecretary@gmail.com.
- NAJA account details: ABSA Bank No. 4067005471 under the reference: endorse the Club name and Registration.
- ALL original registration application forms and documents must be handed personally to the NAJA Registrar.
- Once reconciliation is done and payment is confirmed against the bank statement, the clubs application will be put before the Executive for acceptance at an Executive Meeting for this purpose, to be held during the month of January 2010.
- Once the Executive’s decisions’ are received, the Registrar will notify the clubs thereof.
